Educational Resources for Teachers

Below teachers will find more educational resources provided by other local visitor attractions.

Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood

With its superb collection of toys, games and children's costume, a visit to the Museum of Childhood can offer you unrivalled support in your teaching of primary subjects, and bring your pupils' study alive within the familiar context of childhood and play.

There is plenty on display in the galleries to inspire and educate. The Activity Areas in our new Childhood Galleries provide lots of ways to learn and be entertained at the same time, with Activity Assistants on hand to give further help.

Eltham Palace and Courtauld House

Eltham Palace really captures the imagination of the young. Not only does the palace bring history to life, the house is full of fascinating detail in the design elements and the 1930s ‘mod cons’ that children can relate to and use as inspiration for their own projects.

Firepower: the Royal Artillery Museum

Firepower offers an exciting and safe learning experience, which can be tailored to meet the needs of many different groups. Firepower Galleries provide an excellent backdrop for exciting learning, with the exhibits key to the experience. Interactive and hands on displays motivate pupils to find out more for themselves. The Gunnery Hall features interactive screens that play back video of guns and gunners in action and reveal more artillery facts and figures. There are missions for students to complete too, including shooting down a bomber, matching gun with terrain and firing at a tank. The Real Weapon gallery is totally hands on, providing the opportunity to learn about how artillery works, and the jobs that gunners do.
